Born on 9 September 1965, Gautam Hari Singhania pursued a Bachelor of Commerce at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Born to businessman Vijaypat Singhania and Ashabai Singhnia, Gautam Hari Singhania has two more siblings with a well-established name in the consultancy firm and working as a director at a private industry, A.B. Colour Private Limited. Gautam Singhania, an Indian industrialist and entrepreneur, took over the leadership at Raymond Limited in September 1990. He is the chairman and manager of the famous textile company Raymond Ltd.

Raymond is a global brand that has been made in India and is popular among people across generations. Raymond is marked as the first textile company in the world to produce 250 fabrics. It is also the first in India to introduce and promote unique, innovative fabrics such as Bamboo fibre and UV- resistant fabric. It is the leading textile company with over 60% market share in suiting. Gautam Singhania’s involvement in Raymond’s group has been there from an early age.

His grandfather, Lala Kailashpat Singhania, founded the Raymond group. This legacy of the Singhania family was founded back in 1925 in the city of Maharashtra, India.  He joined the company and became the Managing Director of Raymond Group in the year 2000 after his father, Vijaypat Singhania had handed him over the position he used to manage. Moreover, Gautam Singhania also took the leadership role in this position and stepped ahead to be the Chairman of Raymond Group shortly after.

While working as a Managing Director at Raymond, he instantly started driving its transformation into a globally well-recognised player in the textile industry with a comprehensive approach ranging from fibre to fashion. It was under his direction that Raymond started strategic restructuring. The company further expanded into ancillary sectors like steel, cement, and synthetics to focus on its core markets, which further helped it develop.

It was under his leadership that the Company took over several measures and changes to promote Sustainability and implemented various initiatives that have helped to reduce the carbon footprint. Furthermore, they have promoted some ethical business practices that also help in the social welfare of the general public.

The Government of Maharashtra has awarded him the Maha Udyog Shri Award for Industrial Excellent.

His house is the second most expensive property after the Ambani house. Moreover, he also owns a 10-bed yacht and a particular teak boat where Liz Hurley once had a party.

However, despite all these achievements, he is subjected to a number of controversies and challenges, including some of the most popularly known legal disputes and family conflicts over the control of the ownership of the Company.

Gautam Singhania, with a net worth of whopping billions, lives an ultra-luxury lifestyle and owns one such property in Mumbai called JK House. According to the IndiaTimes report, his house ranks as the second tallest property and is expensive, with a value of INR 6000 Crore.

This Lavish property in Mumbai has expanded to over 16,000 sq. ft. and is a 30-storey house. It has all the luxurious amenities, such as a helipad, two pools and a spa. There are five dedicated floors just for his car collection. This collection includes some of the most renowned and expensive cards, such as Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Superleggera,  Audi Q7, Lotus Elise convertible and Nissan Skyline GTR.

The marble canopy that sits right outside this house also has a rich history. It is believed that that particular place had a statue of Queen Victoria that was later replaced with that of Lala Kailashpat Singhania, the grandfather of Gautam Singhania.

At last, JK House is equipped with advanced security systems and is strict with its protocols that ensure everyone’s safety in this house.
